About me

David Morgan with Mark Allen and Stephen Beatty filming with a drone in the Kalbarri National Park for a documentary on Fishes of the Pilbara

I am currently the Director (Acting) of the Centre for Fish & Fisheries Research at Murdoch University.

I joined Murdoch in 1989 and in 1991 I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. I grew up in the area and attended Rossmoyne Senior High School.

I have been at Murdoch fairly continuously as a post-graduate student and post-doctoral researcher, with my major research area being relating to the ecology of fishes and their habitats. Much of my work is concentrated in the north of Western Australia, while I have conducted a great deal of research in the south-west of the State. My research interests include endangered fishes, biology of feral fishes and impacts of habitat change.

More information on my research and that of my colleagues is available at: www.freshwaterfishgroup.com or centreforfishfisheriesresearch.wordpress.com/
