    Associate Professor David Morgan
    PhD, BSc(Hons)

    Director

    About me

David Morgan with Mark Allen and Stephen Beatty filming with a drone in the Kalbarri National Park for a documentary on Fishes of the Pilbara

I am currently an Associate Professor in the Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Ecosystems in the Harry Butler Institute at Murdoch University.

I joined Murdoch in 1989 as an undergraduate and in 1991 I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. I grew up in the area and attended Rossmoyne Senior High School.

I have been at Murdoch fairly continuously as a post-graduate student and post-doctoral researcher, with my major research area being relating to the ecology of fishes and their habitats. Much of my work is concentrated in the north of Western Australia, while I have conducted a great deal of research in the south-west of the State. My research interests include endangered fishes, biology of feral fishes and impacts of habitat change.

More information on my research and that of my colleagues is available at: www.freshwaterfishgroup.com or centreforfishfisheriesresearch.wordpress.com/

    Teaching area

I current teach in a new unit (Aquaculture) as well as guest lecturing for other units. Most of my teaching is in relation to Honours students and Post-graduate students.
