Beyond :30 – Television’s Changing Landscape (Wave III) (2011).  Chief investigator and project leader in $3 million extension to the Beyond :30 research project which received initial funding in 2005.

Beyond :30 – Television’s Changing Landscape (Wave II) (2008).  Chief investigator and project leader in $3 million extension to the Beyond :30 research project which received initial funding in 2005.

Beyond :30 – New Models for Television Advertising (2005).  Chief investigator and project leader in $4 million research project exploring new models for television advertising.  Awarded $2.6 million by the Australasian Cooperative Research Centre for Interaction Design with total funding of over $4 million through additional funding by industry sponsors including leading television networks, media platforms and global advertisers.

Interactive Lounge of the Future (2004).  Chief investigator and project leader in research project exploring interactive devices responding to gestural interfaces designed to improve viewer control over their television viewing experience.  Project leader and chief investigator.  Awarded $198,000 by the Australasian Cooperative Research Centre for Interaction Design.

Interactive Television Audience Research Lab (2002). $591,000 grant for the construction of a research in consortium including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the Special Broadcasting Corporation, Network Seven, the Nine Network, Network Ten, Optus, Foxtel, Austar, OpenTV, Liberate, Sun Micro-Systems, the WA State Dept. of Education, Murdoch University, the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, and the Australia Research Council.  Includes $411,000 ARC Linkage Infrastructure and Equipment Award.

 Enhancing Children’s Television (2002).  $540,000 research project exploring opportunities to enhance children’s television programming using interactive television technologies.  Research consortium partners include Nickelodeon, the Nine Network, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the WA State Department of Education, Murdoch University and the Australia Research Council.  Includes $420,000 ARC Linkage Award.

Delphi Survey of the Interactive Television Industry in Australia (2002). Research grant awarded by the Australian Broadcasting Authority for survey of the interactive television industry in Australia.

Interactive Advertising Proof of Concepts (2001-02).  Grants provided through industry linkage research projects with the BBC, Procter and Gamble UK, Nike, Pizza Hut and Telecom New Zealand.

Interactive Television Advertising: Prospects for Destination Marketing.  $170,000 grant from consortium including the Australia Research Council (SPIRT grant), the WA Tourism Commission, Market Equity and 303 Advertising.

Digital Television Advertising Research (2000).  $70,000 from various sources including Murdoch University Board of Research, Murdoch School of Commerce, Max Multimedia, Gelaré International, Data & Commerce and Ezenet.
